Holiday Cookie Bars

Description

Delicious cookie bars filled with chocolate chips, M&Ms, and festive sprinkles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick of butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup of mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Holiday M&Ms (divided)
  • 1/4 cup holiday sprinkles (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, with a fork, combine melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in mini chocolate chips, 1/4 cup of the holiday M&Ms, and about 1 tablespoon of the holiday sprinkles.
  6. Line a 9 x 13” glass baking dish with parchment paper and pour the dough into the prepared dish.
  7. Before baking, top the cookie with the rest of the leftover sprinkles and M&Ms.
  8. Bake for 22-23 minutes or until the edges start to brown and the center looks set (do not overbake).
  9. Let the cookie cool completely in the baking dish or for at least 20 minutes.
  10. Remove the parchment paper from the baking dish and cut it into squares using a knife or a pizza cutter. (Option to cut the edges off or leave them).

Notes

  • Make sure not to overbake for chewy bars.
  • Feel free to use different types of chocolate candies for variation.
