Description

A creamy cheese sauce perfect for pasta, nachos, or as a dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups grated cheese (provolone)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until fully incorporated. This will create a roux that will thicken the sauce.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  4. Stir in the grated cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.

Notes

  • This cheese sauce can be used for mac and cheese, drizzling over vegetables, or as a dip.
