Description

Delicious smoked lobster tails brushed with garlic butter and seasoned to perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails (57 ounces each is standard size)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat smoker to 300 degrees.
  2. Pat the lobster dry and use kitchen shears to butterfly the lobster tails. Cut through the top shell down the middle to the base of the tail (fin).
  3. Flip the lobster tail over and press down on the ribs until they crack.
  4. Open the shell and remove the vein if it hasn’t been deveined; wash the tail.
  5. Press along the edges of the shell to loosen the meat while keeping it attached.
  6. Lift the meat from the shell and lay it over the shell.
  7. Combine the butter, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, Old Bay Seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brush over the tails.
  8. Use half of the butter sauce for the smoker and drizzle the rest after cooking.
  9. Smoke the lobster tails until they reach an internal temperature of 130-145 degrees. The tail should be completely white with no grey translucent color.

Notes

  • The amount of garlic butter needed may vary based on the size of your lobster tails. Add more if necessary.
